CC of Bham – TDIGolf

 In Uncategorized

As XGD begins to slow down in to the summer months until Toronto GC restoration project begins with Dr. Martin Hawtree http://www.hawtree.co.uk/ overseeing the extensive project, TDIGolf is in the thick of several restorations in North America.

I just returned from Birmingham,AL and CC of Birmingham http://www.ccbham.org/ , what a glorious property, with gorgeous elevation changes, as well as 36 holes of spectacular golf. TDIGolf is restoring the Pete Dye 18, http://www.dyedesigns.com/ while the Donald Ross 18 is open for play for the 1500 members here. The objective on this course is to make it even tougher than it is. No flat lies are allowed. Restoration also includes a few new greenpads, bunker alterations, minor regrading, and a strip, relay of 4″ of material on all greenpads and regrassing of pads, tees, and fairways. I must confess I was stunned at this property. It is a true gem.

The Cdn version of XGD Systems gets fired up again after the XGD Supervisors Mark Rowan and Terry Hart return from helping at the US Womens Open at Saucon Valley CC, in Bethlehem,PA in early July. XGD will begin then at Toronto GC, http://www.torontogolfclub.com/ in earnest on 20 greens there. I will also blog on site from this project as TDI and XGD undertake this historic project at one of golf’s finest venues.
