Championship Golf Events

Of course we at XGD have had our share of championship golf events held at many of our greens drainage restoration venues over the past several years, and several more upcoming.

However, quickly rolling up on the calendar very quickly are two very prestigious events I need to elaborate on: 2010 Women’s US Open and AT&T National

Coming up first is the AT&T National http://www.attnational.org/ at Aronimink Golf Club in SE PA from June 28th to July 4th. This classic old Donald Ross gem has been restored under the thoughtful eye of superintendent Jon Gosselin and his maintenance staff. XGD Systems worked with this staff in late 07 to complete our XGD install on all greens/approaches/runouts at Aronimink. It will be interesting to try and watch the professionals try and muscle their way around this historic old club. Hopefully, this event will be the first in a long line of golf events returning regularly to this club.

The following weekend the Women’s US Open is contested again at Oakmont Country Club http://www.oakmont-countryclub.org/ . It was in the fall of 07 that XGD installed our subsurface greens drainage system in to the last eleven putting surfaces here. As with all our clients, members at Oakmont desired putting green consistency from green to green, and after a heavy precipitation event, they noticed the XGD greens were superior surfaces to play on, hence the last eleven greens were an easy decision.

Aronimink and Oakmont looked upon our unique greens drainage system restoration process as a subsurface drainage solution that need not impact golf play, as the process can be completed in off-season golf times, as XGD in no way impacted play or even maintenance practices at these facilities due to our quality and timeliness during the installation period.
