LaGrange CC Greens Drainage Improvements

 In Uncategorized

XGD supervisors Keith Kirsch and Cristobal Gayosso embarked on this 2 green subsurface drainage installation project just this past week and they have sent me some great shots of their work on the third green. LaGrange CC is located just southwest of Chicago and is managed to a high degree of perfection by superintendent Jeff Brinegar. XGD Systems has been completing about 2 greens a year here for the last several years now. This action shot below illustrates the third green under the XGD knife along with some greenside bunker edges that were restored in 2004 by Cornish, Silva, and Mungeam:

LaGrange CC has a very long and storied history in Chicagoland golf. In 1899 Herbert Tweedie was commissioned to design an initial 9 hole layout.  Then in 1913, Thomas Bendelow restored the original layout while bringing the layout to a regulation 18 holes. Bendelow was also assisted by William B. Langford in this endeavor. So that is a quite a trio of golf architects to have paced the fairways at LaGrange.

XGD is proud to take its small part in restoring these classic putting surfaces to a modern glory, and we look forward to continually improving these historic greens in the years to come.
The picture below shows the fine finish work Keith and crew are able to pull off in a daily basis for all of our old and new XGD client base:
So don’t hesitate to give us a shout here at XGD as we may be completing a fairway or green near you this spring. Certainly, Keith and crew will be in the Chicago area this spring through to the end of May, so stop on by and view an XGD crew in action.
I promise, you won’t be disappointed.
Cheers, Poor Old Dirt & Grass Farmer
