Myopia Hunt Club XGD Installation

In Classic Golf Architecture, Flushing Salts, Golf Course Capital Improvements, Golf Infrastructure Improvements, Greens Drainage, Herbert Leeds

XGD Supervisor Nick Adele recently completed a five green XGD installation at the historic Myopia Hunt Club , MA. having hosted 4 early US Opens in 1898, 1901, 1905, and 1908 it is pretty clear of the early importance of this great club. Also, it is the only club in the US to boast of two signature holes, the fourth and  ninth, in the top 100 holes in the country. This type of facility is right in XGD’s wheelhouse of typical clients, and the crew enjoyed working at this facility complete with a regular foxhunt and weekly polo matches all contained on the grounds.

GCS David Heroian manages the turf at this club, and has been looking for many years to take advantage of XGD’s services, and he finally succeeded in getting our crew to his gorgeous grounds:

The course is literally stuck in time like no other, and you feel as you drive in the entrance beside the polo fields. Below is the green we began with at Myopia:

And one last shot from the fairway in to our handiwork:

There is lots of short and long grass at this Herbert Leed’s designed facility. Truly, one of the reasons I enjoy my job so much is visiting with these types of facilities and the groundsmen and women who are charged with their upkeep and preservation. By all means reach out to us at XGD, in case we might be able to assist your treasured facility reach back in time, and modernize your infrastructure without leaving a scar.

Cheers,
Poor Old Dirt & Grass Farmer
