Ridgemoor Country Club, IL Restoration Progress

In Classic Golf Architecture, Golf Infrastructure Improvements, Greens Regrassing, William B. Langford

TDIGolf has embarked on a major restoration in Chicago at Ridgemoor Country Club , working with architect Jacobson Golf Course Design and Doug Myslinksi.

XGD Systems has a long history with the club, having drained all of Ridgemoor’s greens about 5 years ago with longtime GCS Peter Hahn. Interestingly enough, I had also been in contact with Riverside GC superintendent Josh Langell, and had begun a greens drainage project at their facility around the same time, not too far away from Ridgemoor. So I was happy to see someone who understands and appreciates our process here at XGD being the helmsman for Ridgemoor’s restoration project moving forward, which scope includes, but is not limited to:

Greens Regrassing
3 New USGA greens
Regrassing of Fairways
Bunker restoration complete w/BetterBillyBunker installation
Pond expansion and general site works

XGD has been involved installing the drainage infrastructure such as this new green below:

Those photos from XGD Supervisor Keith Kirsch who is on site managing our XGD works at Ridgemoor. That is some nice clean work prepping that USGA green sub grade after the drainage installation, while the last picture illustrates the perfection after the 4″ peastone layer has been installed to mimic the subgrade, as well as the plastic vapour barrier staked and ready for action.

So follow along here at the blog and on twitter following Josh Langell, as he updates the club on the process of the infrastructure improvements. And by all means, please contact us to stop by and review the works at Ridgemoor close up, especially if your facility is embarking on such an undertaking.

Regards, Poor Old Dirt & Grass Farmer
