The Busy Season at XGD

 In Uncategorized

This fall installation window just began a few weeks ago for us in central Kansas of all places.
As of today those crews are in transition to Briarwood CC, in Chicagoland. Matthew Magarian and his two crews will begin a full green installation on most all of the greens here this week. XGD will be on site for the month of September, so please contact us at if we might be able to have someone from your club stop by to view the non-invasive greens surgery in a live setting.
The picture illustrates another Chicagoland project from a few years back at the Glen View Club. When June 1st begins Glen View Superintendent Tony Frandria exclaims “welcome to 90 days of hell”, referring to the upcoming summer season. Boy, in 2010, Tony was bang on. Golf courses across the entire country suffered under the wilting heat, and in some cases in combination with excessive precipitation events. With a still strong stand of bentgrass on his greens Tony has survived the stressful summer, but did proclaim “the internal greens drainage by XGD Systems probably was a big help in doing so”. As Labor Day is about to come to pass, it is turf recovery mode at most clubs, with the onset of longer, cooler nights in September gives the turf plant much needed cooling/recovery time and begin a normal cycle of growth again.
XGD’s busy fall installation window also coincides with football season as well. The cool fresh morning air brings on a transition for all of us, as weekends tend to become inside affairs when the weather turns for the worse. Hopefully, mother nature will cooperate this fall and give us enough time for our 6 installation crews to begin their onslaught of their fall installation schedules. With that many installations going on for us this fall please contact us to set up a viewing at a club near you.
Cheers, Poor Old Dirt & Grass Farmer
