XGD Systems is a Growing Concern

In Bunker Drainage, Fairway Drainage, Golf Course Capital Improvements, Golf Drainage, Golf Infrastructure Improvements, Greens Drainage, Greens Regrassing

We recently have taken on some more projects that are pushing us near the limits of our operational capacity. How great for XGD…while this is true, controlled growth is the key. We have not doubled our sales for instance, that would take some long range planning to have our people in position to handle such an increased workload. We are careful about growth at XGD. I wanted to make mention of a couple of new hires to our sales team: Greg Moore from CT was hired in January for our Northeast region which is generally from PA/GA and all points east, while Greg Nichols, from Chicago, was hired in July to cover the mid west region and all points west from there. These guys are doing a bang up job, as we have never been busier with our estimating team.

In order to grow, XGD has had to expand its services beyond our natural staple of subsurface internal greens drainage, and with our backgrounds in soil and grass, it was natural to look to fairway drainage, and greens resurfacing to fill the sales voids and expand to more year round installation teams. Below I have put together a series of pictures illustrating some of our new services:

I do dig this picture, as it shows the pre-op that we had to do to reinstall Donald Ross’s tophat at the 9th green at Barton Hills CC, MI. Of course it reveals some classic XGD from 10 years ago.
Another shot of Barton Hills CC, illustrating some precision green recontouring work done by our team, led by Keith Kirsch.
Here is Keith Kirsch above seeding the modified XGD pushup greens at Lake Geneva CC, WI.
Above is a completed green at Lake Geneva CC, WI. I will follow up with some grow-in shots of this XGD, fumigation and regrass to T1/Alpha project which superintendent Andy Kronwall has managed to perfection.
Another new service above that is gaining traction in the turf industry is XGD bunker drainage, shown above at New Seabury CC, MA. We also have completed extensive fairway drainage at this Cape Cod location.
And last, but certainly not least, we are still curing the above problems on golf greens and high value athletic turf and it will always be our core service here at XGD. But, if your facility has some other cosmetic upgrades that you want to leave to the industry professionals, please reach out to us at XGD, as we are now better positioned to have someone get to your facility in a timely manner and begin a discussion to see if XGD Systems is a nice fit with your facilities next capital improvement.
Cheers for now, Poor Old Dirt & Grass Farmer
