Westchester CC XGD

 In Uncategorized

I was just spending some time looking back at some pictures from last fall, and this one from Westchester CC caught my eye, as I recall taking this picture on top of some of the massive rock ledge on site at Westchester.
Mark Rowan and his crews completed 18 greens in the spring on the championship course, while then wrapping up the final 18 this past fall. Also, included in the fall scope of work is several green approach areas that Westchester wanted to firm up. Using our same greens layout just expanded in to the approach area. So far the results are extremely good on the completed approaches, and we may be back to do some more.

As I mentioned in the previous post, we are underway already with the spring XGD installation season in North Carolina where conditions are soggy to say the least. The recent snowfall events in the DC area have me somewhat concerned as we look to head that way in less than a few weeks time. Hopefully, some snow will have melted by then in the mid-Atlantic, but who knows as this winter has been unpredictable at best.
Stay tuned as I conspire to get an interview from Toronto GC Grounds Manager Al Schwemler in the near future, and at the same time I will try to stop by the TDIGolf http://www.tdigolf.com/ project at Lambton GC and view the XGD drainage in the bunkers there.
Later, Poor Old Dirt & Grass Farmer
